Starting from the hotel in the city of Ushuaia, heading southwest, we will travel along National Route 3 toward Tierra del Fuego National Park.
On the way to the park, we will stop near the Equestrian Center, where we will enjoy excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, the Ushuaia Peninsula, the Murray Channel, and the Bridges and Les Eclaireurs archipelagos.
After crossing the Pipo River bridge, next to the Ushuaia Golf Club, we will arrive at the End of the World Train station. Visitors who wish to do so may board the train (ticket not included and at the passenger’s own expense).
We will then continue the tour by vehicle for another 2 km and enter the National Park, a protected area dedicated to the preservation of the Subantarctic Forest, native flora and fauna. At the Ensenada Zaratiegui junction, we will wait for the arrival of the train.
Along a road surrounded by lenga, ñire and guindo forests, as well as peat bogs, we will reach Lake Acigami (formerly Lake Roca), a glacial lake framed by mountains and forests, where it is possible to spot native bird species.
The final part of the excursion takes us to Lapataia Bay, after passing through areas of cormorant archipelagos, peat bogs, forests, and landscapes shaped by beavers. There, we will have time to walk along the boardwalks, which were built to protect the soil and the archaeological remains of the area’s first inhabitants from more than 6,000 years ago.
From this point, the end of National Route 3, we will begin our return to the city.
